The coronavirus can’t stop us from celebrating Christmas, but precautions must be taken to ensure safety. I couldn’t help but noticed some empty stores at the mall last week. But the grocery shops seemed to be the only shop where most people squeezed in. It’s understandable though since Christmas for many is all about food.

We skipped our Christmas and New Year travel tradition this year because of the pandemic. We could not even celebrate Christmas with my husband’s family due to the risk of contamination. Anyway, better safe than sorry. I wouldn’t mind staying home at Christmas, but snow’s absence has made it a bit boring. It’s been a couple of years now that we haven’t had snow in December.

The Liseberg Amusement Park has been closed after following the Health Agency’s advice, and the restaurants should limit their guests to avoid overcrowding. December is usually the time for the Swedish tradition called Julbord, and it’s normally done in restaurants, where company employees or families gather for a Christmas dinner. I believe this time, many have decided to cancel it. My husband and I had a simple dinner at home and it felt just right and just as well. I hope you all had a happy Christmas despite the pandemic.
