It is usual for brands to be seen sponsoring major events, such as sports competitions, in the form of advertisement hoardings. More recently, brands collaborate with artists of different types as a way of promoting the brand in particular circles, therefore enhancing its attraction. In recent years, we have seen a rise in celebrities endorsing products with their name, which in turn is their brand, to raise the status of a product type and to give the consumer the opportunity to, in some small way, become them. The sale of perfume is a good example of this.
