With the end of one year, comes a new beginning for the next. I am determined to make the year Ahead one that brings me closer to my goals. Making this a reality will require setting an appropriate mindset, visualizing the success that is to come, and mapping out strategies to will these dreams into reality. I plan to wrap this up into a neat little bow and summarize my year ahead with a single word.. RELENTLESS.

I want the word to define me through and through in the year ahead. I want to say it to myself in the morning as I start a day, “Be Relentless in your pursuit of your goals”. Being RELENTLESS means that I won’t give up, I will rebound quickly if I fall off the path, and I will be willing to put in the grind that is required when the going gets tough.

At the end of the day, I want to look back on all that I accomplished and make sure that I was indeed RELENTLESS. Did I piss away hours playing on the internet or watching pointless television, or was I RELENTLESS in spending my time in productive ways that bring me closer to my goals? Being RELENTLESS is not the easy path, but it is the path that can and will separate the year ahead from so many that have come before it, where I ride the roller coaster of ups and downs and never seem to get out of the rat race.

Can one single word have the power to change things for me? I think so. If I keep this word on my lips for the year ahead, I can finally start to move these mountains that have stood in my way. I can finally get my body in the shape that will make sure that I can be healthy in the long-term to provide for this wonderful family of mine. I can make financial gains to make sure that we never have to worry about slipping into the pitfalls of debt, ever again.

What is your word going to be for YOU the new year ahead? RELENTLESS might not be the right choice for you. Perhaps it will be the year of PERSEVERANCE or the year of GENEROSITY. Maybe it will be the year of NETWORKING or the year of STRENGTH. Find that word and hold it tight throughout the days ahead. Let the word be your lighthouse that shows the way to making your dreams come true. Let this year be the year.
