Christmas Savings Coloring Page

We’re excited to share this Christmas savings coloring page! One of the important keys to success when managing your money is preparing for upcoming expenses, which includes saving money efficiently. With the Hallmark Channel playing Christmas in July movies (which I love!), it’s a good time to start looking ahead to Christmas in December! The earlier you start saving money for Christmas, the less stress you will have in the month leading up to the joyous holiday. To help you track your progress and stay on track, we are providing our readers with a fun Christmas tree coloring page.

I know it can seem far away as you’re enjoying the warm weather, going on vacation, and grilling out, among other summer activities, but year after year it can still sneak up on us even though we know it’s coming every December. Don’t let that happen again this year!

Every year, many families will go further into debt for Christmas. This is the last thing you want to do. Make a plan early and start looking for ways to start saving a little each week or each month. Developing your goal early will put you on track to save little by little to successfully fund your Christmas gift budget.

To set your goal for Christmas spending, you should first start by making a list over everyone that you plan on buying a gift for and then deciding on a budget for each individual. You can think back to last year and how much you spent and use it as a guideline for the upcoming Christmas. Add each individual budget up, and add a little extra for any unforeseen expenses, such as your office decides to do a gift exchange this year.

Once you have your savings goal, divide the amount by the number of months left before Christmas. So, if you need to save $500 and you start this month (July), you will need to save about $84 a month. Alternatively, you can work on a bi-weekly goal to save some each paycheck if you get paid every two weeks. Breaking down your main goal into smaller objectives can help you succeed and give you a better since of accomplishment to keep motivated until you reach that final goal.

Next, you need a method for tracking your goal. We wanted a fun way to track our progress and love the idea of the coloring chart, so we have a simple Christmas tree coloring page to offer our readers! We thought $500 might be a good goal for most, so we have created a tree with a goal of $500 in increments of $10. For each $10 you save, you can color in a section of the tree until you have a beautiful Christmas Tree that shows off your hard work!

We recommend saving your money physically by getting a jar or something similar to place your cash in to ensure this money is separate from any other account you have. This will prevent you from accessing it, either intentionally or by not even realizing that you are dipping into your Christmas Savings.

Once you reach your goal and color in that gorgeous star on the top of your tree you will feel relief and accomplishment! Our coloring tree is a great way to help you feel motivated to budget and save for Christmas while also saving yourself a lot of stress in December.

We hope you enjoy! (Click on the picture below to print the page. After cliking the picture, be sure to click the download icon in the upper right corner so that  you have a clean print with no URL at the bottom)
