Does your Studio have a Spirit week? While spirit weeks are most commonly associated with schools, they can be a fun, uniting time during a studio’s year as well. They can break the ice during the beginning of the year, transform a mid-year haul into a revamped week, or kick off competition season. At a studio I taught at, we would have spirit week every week before a competition, with different themes each day. During run-throughs, it was blue and gold day and the studio pride couldn’t have been stronger.

Plan your spirit week out at least 2 weeks in advance. Announce it while sending an email to parents and post on Facebook for a reminder. Most-spirited dancer receives a studio t-shirt, water bottle, or whatever else you’d like to hand out.

Create a Hashtag for your socialmedia account and have your older students and/or parents tag their dancers! This will create some buzz and showcase your studio as a fun place to dance, learn and grow.
