And The Blooming Began....

As all Bharatnatyam dancers know the meaning of 'Alara' ...meaning to bloom, I too started blooming from the very first day I joined the training. Starting with all the energy, enthusiasm and spirit the learning experience began...

The eager and curiosity about learning new steps was the key driving force to move on. The beauty and love for Bharatnatyam were attracting me more and more towards itself. The anxiety to learn all the Basic Steps i.e. Adavus was high. The stamina sometimes was not enough to cope up but the mind was not ready to stop.
The days passed and we were done with our Adavus.....What a great feeling it was...the feeling of achieving something...that time that "something" was much more to me...But as I move forward I realized it was just a drop in the ocean of knowledge...but how sweet it really was!
The Adavus, the initial lessons in Bharatnatyam not only Teaches us the basic steps but much more than that. It teaches us a basic discipline, it teaches us the importance of hard work, it teaches us how simplicity has its own beauty, how our body can synchronize with our mind and give rise to beautiful creations...when the left and right side of not only our brain but in our views work together creates harmony in life... how magical are the beats which emerge from Tatta-Kali or Talam, how shollus speak to us giving that smile on our face when we are sweating...when the feets are paining....
The mind doesn't allow me to stop...it was now a hungry bird now......hungry for grasping the sea of knowledge, hungry to touch the sky, fly till the horizon.....
