Baltimore Aquarium

On the way we passed an INSANE amount of motorcycles.  They had 95 completely shut down & the motorcycles had police escorts.  I looked it up & it was America’s 9/11 Ride (www.americas911ride.org) which was pretty awesome.

The Aquarium was completely packed.  I had bought tickets on my phone while we were eating lunch at a restaurant to avoid the line.  I wasn’t aware that they sell tickets by time slots - I guess due to the maxium occupancy for the building.  We got in right away with our advanced ticket purchase, but it was still so packed inside.

The photo above was right when you walk in.  It’s also part of the Australia Exhibit..

I made my hubby take way more pictures this weekend than I think he enjoyed. :) This one was also taken in the Australia Exhibit - There were 2 slots that we spotted out way up in the trees.

I remember when we went to the Dallas Zoo we got to see a sloth close up as the guy that worked in the Zoo had him down from the trees.  It’s incredible how slow they move.  On another note - If you’re ever in the Dallas area - GO TO THAT ZOO!  It’s our FAVORITE zoo (and you can get margaritas there!!)

This was the view from the observation area near the caf inside the aquarium.  There were HUGE yachts to the right of this view.

My husband said his favorite part of the aquarium was the sharks - It’s pretty neat how they have them set up in a circular area with floor to ceiling glass so you can see.  They were zooming right around inside the tank!

My favorite part was probably the huge tank right in the center of the aquarium (top picture).  I just think it’s super neat seeing all of the fish swim around in a natural like habitat.  Plus, there was a HUGE sucker fish that was pretty incredible & a sea turtle missing a fin.  When we were there there were two guys swimming around in the tank cleaning it (and I always get so jealous because wouldn’t that be the coolest job ever).

When we got home we were all exhausted.  I know that was the longest I have walked around in a LONG time.  We not only walked around the aquarium but we walked up and down the streets and checked out some stores.  I threw together a quick salad - romaine, kale, tomatoes, onions, sweet peppers, and carrots.  I had found some GF croutons (Schar brand) at this new Giant that I discovered last week and of course I had to pick them up.  That was the first time I ever saw GF croutons and honestly, I never expected to see GF + DF croutons!!! Haha  They’re delicious!

The margherita pizza was so good!  It’s so incredible that the dairy free mozzarella really tastes like mozzarella!
