Puttu is the very common and authentic Gods own country’s Break fast.. Every one thinks of Puttu as soon as people think of having the breakfast in Gods own country.  All the way when Gods own country, Kerala i dreamt and got up with a feel of eating Puttu and went to a small Tattugada ( Corner eatery Joint) to eat and was undoubtedly tasty.

In the search, as a Foodie heard few of my Kerala friends , there is a huge restaurant dedicated only  to Puttu by a Malayalam Film Celebrity Mr. Dileep. Hence All the way,  from FortKochi i travelled to Edpally which is around 15 kms on the high way i visited this Puttu based Theme restaurant called “Dhe Puttu” means Here the Puttu.

It looks very awesome with a celebrity picture serving hot puttu outside which is very appealing to enter. Interiors very earthy and seating arrangements are quite spacious. One can find rich crowd here and they serve till 4:30 in the evening and then again it starts with 5:30 in the evening. People stand in queue to get seating here. i loved the place and especially Ambiance.The staff and manager are quite friendly and helpful.

As soon as we enter and pick our table we will be served with hot Kattan Chayan (Black tea) and will be served all through the meal. believe me i drank it literally.. it was so very tasty.!!

Then here comes the Menu with the multiple Options Veg: which has Puttu Kadala, Puttu Peas masala, Puttu vegetable Stew, Veg chinese Puttu, Veg American choupsy Puttu meal. There are even Combos where Puttu is served with 3-4 vegetarian curries and Papadam. Pappadam (papad) is the best part in Kerala which is served with everything in Kerala including even with Biryani. Generally Puttu is made of Rice powder with coconut Steam cooked in Chembavu (cylindrical instrument used for making Puttu) but in here Ragi (millet) puttu, Wheat Puttu, and other varieties are also available and all together even Marble Puttu is available too. Puttu iced tea is also available.

Nonveg Puttu meal is served again with Sea food, Chicken, Red meat, fish, Beef and Combos are available too.

As i have tasted all varieties og Veg putt, i wanted to try the Chinese Style of American Sour and sweet Choupsey Combo and here goes My puttu

Finally I chose my dessert favourite, AdaPayasam and ate with the Pappadam..

It’s quite a reasonable tasty option.

It s must try Puttu place if One visits Ernakulam Or Cohin or Kochi.
