Learn how to make the ultimate French Onion Burger!

It’s not summer until you’ve fired up the grill and smelled burgers roasting away inside. Ketchup and mustard bottles strewn across a picnic table near a hearty potato salad while kids squeal and chase each other with squirt guns. I live in the SoCal High Desert and here it’s grilling season pretty much all year. Over the years, I’ve learned a few tricks of the trade and have created what I believe to be a perfectly seasoned burger, at least as far as my mouth is concerned. Rich and full of beefy flavor, this French Onion Burger tops my best burgers list and today I’m sharing it with you.

To start, you’ll need some ground beef.

Add in a packet of French Onion soup mix. Or if you make your own, like me, roughly two tablespoons.

And some soy sauce.

Mash it all together using your hands and then form the mixture into four patties and add a small hole in the center. It’s a trick my grandmother always swore by and now I swear by it. It keeps your burgers from shrinking up too much and it also helps to ensure you get it cooked all the way through.

Grill the burgers for several minutes on each side.

Let them rest for a few minutes before assembling your burger.

I like to add some thousand island and green onions to mine. I love that zesty Onion flavor!

Perfectly seasoned, juicy burgers that will impress anyone who comes to your next BBQ or summer cookout. I know it’s a simple recipe, but it’s just divine! And sometimes it’s the simplest of recipes that have the most lasting impressions.
