Why buy when you can grow your own?

So I’ve started to get into growing my own produce – and by started I mean Literally only imagining it in my head. But a few weekends ago I was at Target (my friend and I go literally every weekend, it’s horrible), and at the front section, where all the little cheap goodies are, I found Organic herbs in little tin cans. In the cans were the seeds and the soil to plant them in. I saw them and I said to myself – why not start with these little guys? They have directions on how to plant them and everything.

So I Bought them – $3 a piece, yippee! – and planted them in the little cans. I bought thyme (which is a spice I never use, but I bought it anyways), basil and oregano. It only took a week and a half for these little babies to sprout – one of them hasn’t sprouted yet, but I’m hoping that it’s just a late bloomer. I was also thrilled that they were organic, as I normally buy organic produce.

Because I have been successful, so far, in growing these, it makes me want to grow fruits and vegetables – so, once I’ve completed this blog post, I’m literally going to be on my way to Whole Foods to see what kind of organic seeds they offer. I’m thinking spinach, tomatoes, watermelon, strawberries and I’d eventually like to grow pumpkins in the Fall.

If you have any gardening tips/tricks or would like to share what you’re planting, either comment or email me at [email protected]!
