The Selection

I wanted to continue this week with a DASH friendly diet.  Before getting into non-meat recipes, I thought I would try to find a Recipe with lean beef.  I found a Men's Fitness page listing lean cuts.  A sirloin tip shows as generally having the least amount of fat.

I went to whittlerz.com to search on sirloin and 2 of my favorite vegetables.  Less than 100 recipes were found, which made it easier to select a recipe.  The Stir Fry caught my eye.  Most of the ingredients were on our normal shopping list.

The Preparation

The marinade using vegetable oil seemed odd, but I followed directions.  We also had a carrot left over from the prior week, so I thought I would cut it into thin slices to add more color to the Dish.  I boiled simple white rice to round out the dish.

All the vegetables and steak were cooked in a single pan.  Couldn't get much easier to make as well as clean up.

The Outcome

Generally good.  When ordering stir fry out, I usually get a spicy dish.  This particular recipe had nothing to spice it up.  Red pepper flakes may just do the trick next time.
