goulash with sausage and roasted potatoes

ingredients (2 portions)

  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • salt
  • 4 sausages (bratwurst, total 220 – 300 g)
  • 3 small to medium onions
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1 can tomatoes in pieces (400 g)

preheat oven to 20°. wash potatoes and cut into wedges (if you prefer it without skin, peel them beforehand). mix potatoes with 2 tbsp oil and paprika powder, place on a baking tray, salt and roast in hot oven for aboout 35 min. turn once during roasting.

in the meantime cut Sausages into 1 cm slices. peel onions, cut in half and cut into fine halfrings. cut paprika into 2×2 cm squares. heat 2 tbsp oil in a pot, sear sausages at medium to high heat until brown. lift sausages out of the pot and set aside. in the remaining fat sear onions until glassy, shortly sear also paprika with it. season with sugar and curry. add tomatoes and 200 ml water, salt and let boil for 5-10 min (without lid). let sauce reduce, so it isn’t too liquid anymore.

put sausages back into sauce, heat up. serve Goulash with Roasted Potatoes.
