Have you guys seen Younger yet?  The premise is pretty genius!

A woman lies about her age to get a job.  As a 40 year-old Divorced Mom, she’s overqualified for any job she might actually be offered.   And, of course, she meets a young stud who mistakes her for a younger woman.  Basically, she gets the chance to relive her 20s!  Going out for drinks on a Tuesday night.  Joining a dodgeball league.  Not freaking out if a guy doesn’t call her back.  Not giving up when something seems impossible and even doing something a little crazy, because she knows you have to give it a try!  What’s the worst that could happen??  To have the air of fun and innocence, with the wisdom to know whatever happens, in the end, things will turn out fine.

The premise got me thinking about identity.  She dresses like a 26-year-old hipster, but is that just part of the illusion?  Does she enjoy wearing these clothes?  Are they a part of her or did she become a part of them?  If she wasn’t 40 and divorced with a daughter, would she act differently (even though she’s a 40 year old acting like a 26 year old…did you follow that??)  Would her young boyfriend ever have fallen in Love with her if he knew from the beginning that she was 40?  Could he please fall in love with me??  (Just kidding!)

Who knows, but Darren Star has created another winner!  I want her life- the beautiful, crazy, messy ride!  I don’t think I’d want to go back to high school, but reliving my 20s seems like it would be fun!
