Fisher-Price Octonauts RC Gup K

Clay has been and still is a big fan of Octonauts (see our previous Octonauts related posts). He has asked for an Octonauts Gup D toy ("I want the yellow crab mummy!") for his 5th birthday back in May, and we caught him catching up with all the episodes on iPlayer during our Summer holiday in Hong Kong and Taiwan!

So when we were offered the newly released Octonauts Remote Control Gup K by Fisher-Price for review, I knew that he will be extremely excited! It was like an early Christmas for him when he saw it sitting on the sofa waiting for him to come home from school!

Fisher-Price's Octonauts range has always impressed us, and when we heard that Gup K is remote controllable, we knew that it will be another popular Gup for the Octonauts fans! Here are the details, followed by our review:

Fisher-Price Octonauts Remote Control Gup K (suitable for 3 years and above; RRP £39.99) comes with Gup K, remote control, Captain Barnacle, alligator, 2 swamp speeders and a water cannon.

Gup K requires 4 AA batteries, and the remote control requires 2 AAA batteries.

Gup K's jaw moves when it moves forward/ backward
Left: little pins holds the Octonauts characters onto the gup
Right: Power button to save battery when it's not being played
There is space inside the swamp speeder for the Octonauts' legs!
Wheels under the swamp speeders makes rescue mission more fun!
The water jet can be launched by pressing the red button on the top
Like all the other Octonauts vehicles, all the Gup K accessories (except the creature, which can still be stored onto the Gup K) can be attached to the gup itself.

When the Gup K moves, its jaws will open and close (to chomp through fallen trees and swamp debris!). It can also shoot water jet (to extinguish wildfires) by pressing the red button on top of the water cannon, and the Swamp Speeders has wheels to zoom away (to quickly reach creatures that needs rescuing!).

Remote control makes the Gup K to move forward and reverse spin.

The Remote control makes the Gup K move forward and reverse spin (see video below). You can connect the remote control with other RC gups' controller as well, so you can control all the gups together easily, to play a mass rescue!

Runs well on carpet too!

Clay absolutely loves the new Octonauts RC Gup K! He's been playing with it since we've received it, and when the battery is gone, he even tried to change them himself (I had to sit him down and tell him that it's not ok to change batteries himself, even though he knew exactly what to do).

He has a tendency to bring his favourite toys with him to bed (it doesn't matter if it's made of hard plastic), and Gup K is another Fisher-Price Octonauts toy he brought with him!

He really likes it that it's remote controllable, although he did say that he would have loved it even more if there is a sound effect button. I understand what he meant, but on the other hand I'm quite pleased that it's a quiet Gup!

Overall a fun and good quality toy, perfect for the Octonauts fans this Christmas! It's available at all good toy stores now.
