Mamidi Antu (Seed) Bisibele Bath

Mamidi Antu Bisibele Bath is my discovery which originated because of the love towards Bisibele Bath and idea of using the Mango seed..!!!

Concept is so simple where I have chosen ingredients simple and yummy..!!

Raw Mango is the delicacy during summers and it retains the salts in body during summers with its sourness..!! I was very Skeptical to throw the seed as we use to use them for “Antu Pulusu”, where we use Raw Mango seed to give sourness and tanginess for the dish..!!!

And Bisibele bath, being one my favourite breakfasts, I personally try using almost all varieties yet balancing vegetables which keep the real taste as it has to taste..!!

Use of Potatoes balances the Masala and Sourness if Raw Mango..!! I purposely used Small onions to give that Pungent taste as it gives over all the balanced taste..!!

You can expect your Bisibele bath as Tangy Pungent spicy and mouth watery…!!

Coming back to the ingredients I have chosen,

3 Raw Mango seeds

2 potatoes

10-15 Small Kerala onions

10 Guntur Red chillies

1 Naati Tomato

Curry leaves & Green Coriander leaves

Small Coin sized Jaggery

Red chilli powder 2-3 tbsp

NO tamarind has to be used

Salt – sufficient

2-3 tbsp of Bisibele bath Powder

1 cup of Tuvardal

3 Cups of Rice

Tempering:

1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds

2 tbsp Ghee

Asafoetida

Pinch of Turmeric

Preparation :

1. Add all the ingredients to the cooker and cook for 4 Whistles..!!

2. Add tempering and in the end and close the lid..!!

3. Kindly do not eat mango seed..!!

Tips:

Use Raw Mango Seed than Ripen Mango seed as Raw Mango seed is more softer and sour which balances the taste of Bisibele bath masala..!!

Add a Sweet to balance the taste of sourness as it might aggregate Pitta (bile).

Here I used Sunnunda (sweet made if Roasted Urad Dal and Sugar) ..!!
