Spicy Grilled Cauliflower Bites

These Spicy Grilled Cauliflower Bites are a great low calorie, low carb appetizer or side dish. Much like grilled chicken wings, this charcoal grilled cauliflower has a smoky flavor and crunch that will please even the pickiest of carnivores!

Have you ever tried charcoal grilled cauliflower?

Cauliflower makes delicious vegetarian party appetizers. It is a firm vegetable that withstands moderate-high heat and perfect for grilling. Back in my hometown, we make a variety of dishes out of cauliflower. Charcoal Grilled Cauliflower Bites are my favorite appetizer that I grill quite often for our family gatherings. So simple to grill in just a few minutes. They pair well with grilled meat for a wholesome meal everyone will love.

You could even bake these cauliflower bites in the conventional oven using a sheet pan for 10 – 12 minutes in a pre-heated 500ºF oven, then broil for 5 – 6 minutes. They turn out good, but you will miss that smoky flavor from a charcoal grill.

Best tips for charcoal grilling:

Charcoal grills are inexpensive, easy to maintain, and they cook slow and steady with a bonus of adding a unique smoky flavor to the dish. They’re perfect for grilling beef, chicken, pork, and vegetables.

Before you grill these Spicy Cauliflower Bites, clean the grates with a grill brush and make sure to empty the ashes of the grill that piled up from the last time you cooked. That helps to clear up the vents and keep the temperature in control.

Light the coal briskets first, replace the grill grates, brush oil on the grate before cooking. This helps to avoid the food from sticking to the grates.

Meat patties and dense vegetables, like cauliflower and corn, can be cooked on high heat to get that perfect sear on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside.

Cook thick cut meats and sausages on medium heat. This helps the meat to get cooked evenly inside and outside. If you are using spices and herbs as a marinade, cooking on medium heat is highly recommended.
