No-Churn Piña Colada Sorbet {DF}

This sweet and creamy No-Churn Piña Colada Sorbet recipe is a dairy-free dessert that’s simple to make without any special tools!

If you like piña coladas, you’re going to love this Dairy-Free, No-Churn Piña Colada Sorbet! When you’re on a dairy-free diet, it can be difficult to enjoy traditional desserts because they usually contain a variety of butter and milk. Luckily, that’s not the case with sorbet, and this particular recipe still has that creamy ice cream feeling thanks to a can of coconut milk. Get all the delicious flavors of a piña colada in this frozen treat that doesn’t require any special tools – just your blender!

No-Churn Piña Colada Sorbet: A Dairy-Free Dessert

This sorbet makes me feel like I could be on a tropical vacation somewhere. If only! A girl can pretend though. I also love making sorbet whenever we have guests over because it’s the perfect treat that everyone can enjoy since I have friends who cannot eat dairy. It’s delicious, it’s easy, and it’s a hit with everyone.

Personally, my tip is to add a little rum to the sorbet for a delicious adult-only dessert. See my tip below to see why! With all of these ingredients, it has that true piña colada taste. Oddly enough, I don’t normally enjoy pineapple and coconut, but when you put the two together, I’m always on board.

It’s really easy to whip up this No-Churn Piña Colada Sorbet recipe with canned ingredients, but you can certainly use fresh pineapple if you prefer. Although sorbet is a bit high in sugar (compared to some desserts), the nice thing is the fruit takes care of some of the sweetness so it may actually have less sugar and definitely less fat than some traditional ice creams. Once frozen, I also recommend running an ice cream scoop under warm water for easier scooping. It does harden when frozen after all.

If you love this sorbet recipe, be sure to try my peach lemonade sorbet too. It’s equally delightful!

Dairy-Free Piña Colada Sorbet

Ingredients

  • 1 can pineapple, cubed or crushed, drained
  • 1 12-oz can coconut milk
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lime juice

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender or extra large food processor and blend until all pineapple chunks are puréed.
  2. Move to the fridge for 30 minutes to settle, then blend again.
  3. Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container.
  4. Freeze for at least 3 hours for mixture to harden into sorbet.
  5. Scoop into bowls and top with toasted coconut or other toppings if desired.

Notes

Home Chef Tip: Add a shot of rum to booze it up and make the sorbet a little softer because alcohol won't freeze!
