Tropical Americano Cocktail Recipe

This Tropical Americano Cocktail recipe is just as pretty as it is delicious. It’s perfect for a quiet after-dinner drink or for celebrating a special occasion.

On New Year’s Eve, we had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. In addition to having amazing food, they have a very talented bartender. Even he would be impressed with this Tropical Americano Cocktail recipe!

He made me a delicious Cocktail with Campari; something that I’d never tried before. Campari is very unique and people tend to either like it or hate it. Me? I loved it.

Campari has a bitter quality to it, and most notably, is used in an Italian cocktail called a Spritz. Campari is a liqueur that has a dark red color.

Valentine’s Day is upon us and this bright red color is perfect for a Valentine’s Day cocktail. We always celebrate Valentine’s Day at home by making a meal that we enjoy and either a glass of wine or an after-dinner drink. This year I thought it would be fun to have a Valentine’s Day appropriate cocktail, and this Tropical Americano Cocktail is perfect for the occasion.

A traditional Americano Cocktail uses a mix of Campari, Sweet Vermouth, and Club Soda. I wanted to shake that drink up a bit (pun intended) so I added sweet pineapple juice and a couple shakes of bitters and the end result is amazing.

I love using citrus when I can this time of year. It makes the cold days of winter just a little less gloomy. In addition to being pretty enough for Valentine’s Day, this cocktail is delicious as well.

If you are celebrating Valentine’s Day with little ones or with people that prefer not to drink alcohol, you can serve pineapple juice with Grenadine. That also makes a festive looking drink that’s perfect for sharing with those you love.
