How To Come Up With A Blog Name

Once you have an Idea of what your blog will be about, the next step is to come up with a domain name.

1. Make a list of keywords relating to your blog’s niche.

Let’s say I’m Starting a blog about green tea – health benefits, recipes and a shop page. I could use words like matcha, Japan, beverage, anti aging,

The truth is most of the words you will want to use won’t be available, so it helps to get a little creative. You can try combine 2 or 3 words together, change the spelling or create your own words.

2. Choose a .com over a .net

Listen, if you are hung up on one blog name and it happens to be available as a .net, then you should seriously consider buying.

Otherwise, pick a .com.

3. Don’t fret too much

All of us would love to own the coolest .com name, but focusing on that is not the right way to get started. Instead of spending hours coming up with a great name, invest those hours on creating content. There are plenty of blogs out there with boring names that are doing extremely well because they publish high quality content.

When a great idea such as starting a blog comes your way, this is the time to grab it and do something with it. Otherwise it will move on and someone else will take ownership. I’ve always believed that – ideas float around us all the time and once in a while, one will shine brighter than the others. Sometimes we are more opened to receiving them and it’s during that time that we should take action.
