Dark Chocolate Bark With Pink Peppercorns & Hawaiian Black Lava Salt

Need a last minute sweet treat for your Valentine this year? Then Chocolate Bark is an easy, handmade gesture of love to give to your loved one on your special day. It is made by melting chocolate in a double boiler, pouring it into a greased baking tray and topping with your favorite flavors. After it sets you can wrap it up whole and give to your love to break or you can crack it into shards yourself and package in a little heart shaped box. Aren’t handmade gifts waaaay more heartfelt than a box of chocolates that anyone can buy from the store?

Dark Chocolate Bark with Pink Peppercorns & Hawaiian Black Lava Salt

  • Level: Beginner
  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 400g 80% pure dark chocolate
  • ¼ cup pomegranate seeds
  • ¼ tsp dried lavender buds
  • 1 tsp dried pink peppercorns, gently crushed in a mortar and pestle
  • 1 tsp black hawaiian salt or other small grain salt

Instructions

  1. Grease a flat baking tray with coconut oil.

  2. Melt chocolate in a double boiler pan, then spread the chocolate in the flat baking tray.

  3. Sprinkle each ingredient evenly over the chocolate then leave to set.

  4. Break up into shards once the chocolate has set.
