You can serve these pancakes with your favourite condiments – this recipe is designed to make a thicker pancake, so it works well with jam and cream as well as the classic maple syrup.
Classic Pancake Recipe
A classic pancake recipe if you want thick, fluffy pancakes.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2cups all-purpose flour
- 3 1/2teaspoons baking powder
- 1teaspoon salt
- 1tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/4cups milk
- 1whole egg
- 3tablespoons buttermelted
Instructions
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
- Heat a lightly oiled frying pan over medium high heat.
- Pour or scoop the batter onto the pan, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.
- Brown on both sides and serve hot.
