Chinese-Style Steamed Grey Mullet
    Servings4 servings

    Cook Time20 minutes
    Ingredients
    • 2each grey mulletabout 1 1/2 lb each
    • 2teaspoons salt
    • 2tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 2tablespoons light soy sauce
    • 1large carrrotcut into fine strips
    • 8each green onionscut into fine strips
    • 1piece Fresh Ginger3 inches, grated
    • 2tablespoons sesame oil
    • 1/4cup fr3esh cinaltro
    Instructions
    1. Scale and gut the mullet, clean and pat dry. Make 4 deep slashes along each side of the fish, then rub the fish inside and out with salt, vegetable oil and soy sauce. Cover and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes
    2. Spread half the carrot, green onions and ginger on a large piece of aluminum foil. Place fish on top, sprinkle with remaining vegetables the ginger and any remaining marinade. Loosely fold over aluminum foil to seal. Transfer fish to a steamer.
    3. Cook for 20 minutes or until the fish is firm and cooked through. In a small saucepan heat the sesame oil, drizzle over fish and garnish with cilantro.
