Eyes That Do Not See

The abiding sea of me,
Pushing, pulling simultaneously.
Washing ashore jellyfish,
And the inevitable flurry of junk.
Souls who have chosen to swim in the waves
Have been suffocated, sunk!

The sand is soft between travelling toes,
But there remains many dangers unknown.
Oh! Angry sea,
Oh! Polar sea,
You wash fire upon rocks,
But your waters ‘ever icey.

Eyes peek through
The tiny grains of the land.
They watch those who sleep,
Their pupils so grand.

Many stab them,
But what horror!
There are more.
They blink continually,
Making one’s feet very sore.
