The moon is in my sign,

and my mind is on my heart.

There are lovers,

laughing and living, right across the aisle,

undeterred by icy winds and my icy stare,

which softens when I remind myself that it is not their fault that they are happy,

and that I am not.

I try to be happy for them,

wondering if that will be easier than trying for myself,

and somewhere deep within my bones,

a fire is born.

I hope that she grows.
