Before I get into my Review, here's the synopsis from Goodreads:

She wants freedom from life on the farm.
He wants to forget a life-changing tragedy.
She’s a student desperate to be taken seriously.
He’s a veteran trying to go back to ordinary.
She falls in love easily.
He finds it hard to feel at all.
A chance encounter.
A mirage.
A dream.
He tries to rescues her.
She wants to save herself.
It takes danger to bring them together…
…and fear to tear them apart.

Can they find love in a city known for heartbreak?

My Rating: 3 out of 5 stars.

Disclaimers: I received a copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not obligated to write a good review nor did I receive any compensation for writing this review.

Why did I decide to turn the pages? I liked the title. That was what drew me in.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: This Book was an enjoyable one that I'm glad I read. While it lacked that extra depth to be an excellent read, it was still a fun read.

I went in with high expectations (unusual since I hadn't heard of the author or the series before, but I did). That might also contribute to why the book didn't quite reach a 4 star rating.

However, having said that, I enjoyed the novel. It was well written. The plot was fairly fast paced, and the writing was good. I've read books that were better than this one before, but it stood out from the crowd.

An enjoyable read recommended for fans of new adult.

So why 3 stars? Just didn't quite stand out enough to be a 4.

Can I read the series out of order? Yes, I did.

The Wrap-up: Fun, quick read.

Love,

Danica Page
