ANNUAL AWARD ending on Thanksgiving Day, 2016

Date for submitting entries to the competition:


To participate in the contest ending on Thanksgiving Day, submit starting January 1st at 12pm EST and no later than July 31st, 12pm EST.



SUBMITTING FOR CONTEST



1. Writers must send their submissions to: [email protected]

All submissions for the contest entry must be sent to Freeditorial in Microsoft Word format (docx.) as an attachment.

In the body of the email, the submitter must write their full name, country, email address and postal address. They must also indicate if they want to publish their submission with a pseudonym instead of their legal name.

A submitter may want to include an attractive synopsis to their submission in the body of the same email, so that Freeditorial can use it as an introduction to their story.

2. Each participant may have one submission per contest, and will promote it as they see fit to make it known to as many potential readers.




Terms and conditions



A) The writer may be a citizen and resident of any country in the world.

B) Long-Short Stories must be fiction or historical and written in English. The writer is free to choose the topic.

C) The book must have a minimum of 10,000 words and a maximum of 40,000

D) Freeditorial will inform the participant once the story is published, and will provide an account and login credentials so they can monitor the performance of their submission with readers. This will help the participant when developing strategies to promote their work.

E) Readers around the world will have access to free downloads of the submissions on Freeditorial website. During the contest, Freeditorial will display submissions, ranking them by number of downloads, in descending order. This information will be updated daily.

F) At the end of the contest, all the submissions will remain available to readers under “Short Stories” category on Freeditorial platform.

G) The winners will be announced on the Freeditorial Homepage on Thanksgiving Day.

H) There is no fee to participate in Freeditorial Contests.



Contest prizes are:



$ 15,000 - first position

$ 5,000 - second place

$ 2,000 - third place



Winners will be chosen according to the following criteria:



- Number of downloads and quality of work: Freeditorial measures the level of interest among readers through the number of unique downloads obtained by each submission. Repeated downloads from the same IP address will not count, thereby ensuring accurate and fair ranking system. Submissions that reach the last week of the contest with other similar or comparable numbers of downloads will be forwarded to Freeditorial literary advisers to judge furthermore based on literary quality.

- Promotion of your work: participants can promote their work as they see fit and should use creativity and put in necessary effort get a maximum number of readers and downloads.



Admission to the contest:



A) Freeditorial reserves the right to refuse participants.

B) By sending their submissions, participants agree for it to be published on the Freeditorial.com platform, and that their submissions will be available for downloading in digital formats to Freeditorial audience. Freeditorial may display advertisements while readers are downloading submissions.

C) The participant acknowledges that they are the writer and author of the work and, therefore, the sole owner of the publishing rights. If not so, the participant submitting the work will be responsible for any possible legal implications. Similarly, if a complaint arises due to the content of the work, the participant assumes full responsibility for any outcome.

D) The digital publication rights of the winning submissions belong exclusively to Freeditorial for ten (10) years.
The digital publishing rights of the non-winning submissions belong exclusively to Freeditorial for two (2) years.
The starting date of such rights shall be the same as the date of winners’ announcements.

E) After the end of the periods mentioned above, writers will have digital publishing rights of their submissions as they see fit. However, from those dates, Freeditorial can continue publishing them on its website, but not exclusivity.

F) Freeditorial will edit the layout of the submissions at its own discretion, but the text content will remain identical to the writer’s original. Freeditorial is not liable for errors or defects in the content or form.

G) Freeditorial may remove from its website any submission at any time for any reason, with or without notice to the writer.

H) By submitting their work, participants acknowledge that they have read, understand and agree to all items stated in the terms and conditions of participation in Freeditorial literary contest

I) Minimum Number of Entrants: Freeditorial.com reserves the right to cancel this contest if it does not receive the minimum of forty (40) entries before July 31st 2016. If such decision is made, participants will be notified via email, their submissions will be removed from Freeditorial.com platform and writers will retain all publishing rights of their works.
