Seventy-third Letter to Anais

Your Constant Admirer

I wish I could write a letter.
With curved lines across the diagonal
A haiku bordered with soft lines
Words that could save us

It would be folded again and again
A flower perhaps, or mountains,
Maybe even a star to reflect
The bright future that shines for us

The envelope would have our names
A simple stamp in the upper left
And sealed from prying eyes

But there never was an “us”
