False Promise

She offered her hand to him. The hand was offering more than a dance and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to make that commitment. It wasn’t that he didn’t like her; but, he felt like an more of an option rather than a priority. Her hand was a false apology, a sorry without meaning, a promise lacking both context and content.
