A large number of students graduate from different streams and the numbers increasing day by day, these fresher’s add to the pool of existing work force present in the market and have to compete with them. Most of this graduate students who are interviewed by the HR managers of company find it difficult to Interview and place this number of fresher’s. Big Giants have re-engineered recruitment process, a major IT recruiter in India started with digital recruitment process, the number of fresher’s interviewed by the company was huge and they have seen a growth in these numbers by 25 %. The time required form completion of recruitment process was 3-4 months. To handle the large number of interviews companies have started with digital recruitment process, which includes of online test, phone interview, video interview and or finally face to face interview, this process has reduced the time required for short listing and selection to 3-4 weeks.
On other hand the students are not familiar with such changes and find difficulty in clearing the interviews, the normal curriculum emphasizes on development of hard skills and soft skills are ignored completely. a good number of students are able to clear the written test but unable to clear telephonic round, video call or face to face interview, which normally requires of well developed soft skills. Students face difficulty during telephonic round due to lack of telephonic etiquette, during video conferencing due to lack of use of Technology and giving face to face interview the anxiety and fear of competition.
