As the definition goes – Sologamy is marriage by a person to oneself. Supporters of the practice argue that it affirms one’s own value and leads to a happier life. An alternative term is self-marriage, but this may also refer to a self-uniting marriage, that is a marriage without an officiant.

This completely makes sense for people who are either tired of looking out for that perfect soulmate or the “right fit” or are simply being pressurized by family or relatives to get married as soon as possible.

Sologamy has spread like fire and if you just search across the net, you will find so many stories and cases revolving its implementation. Most of these practitioners are supposedly women and that was so obvious considering the type of society we still continue to live in. This society believes that the only way for women to get financial and mental stability is to marry them off to someone who is believed to be much more capable of providing these aspects to her.
