Summer is about many things, fun, family and relaxing. For Summer, I hate carrying around a large bag in the heat. I usually have a small shoulder bag on my arm with a few necessities with me. I decided to compile a little list surrounding these items as it's so important
Headphones
Summer walks with some summer tunes? What's better than that? I live in the middle of nowhere and there are loads of fields surrounding me. My summer usually consists of walking my dogs and spending time running around in the countryside. So having some portal headphones where I can listen to some upbeat music in the sunshine is perfect.
Notebook and Pen
As a creative writer, a notebook is usually my most powerful lesson. Got an idea for a story? Write down. Got an idea for a blog post? Write it down. Feeling inspired in the sun? Write it down. Carrying a notebook on me is definitely an essential for me.
My Instax Camera
Is there anything more important than capturing those summer memories? I always carry my little Instax polaroid camera and this bright, summery colour it always goes perfectly with my summer-y outfits. Although, the film can be super expensive so I also carry my phones as well and (when it has storage) take some summer photos on there too.
My Sunglasses
Maybe an obvious one but sunglasses are always in my bag in the summer. These glasses are from TopShop and as someone that suffers majorly from Hayfever, sunglasses help so much. It protects your delicate eyes from the high pollen counts in the summer. The only thing I am super bad at doing is keeping them in a case. They are getting a little scratched now so I might have to invest in some new ones for next summer.
Carmex Lip Balm
I can't lie and say this lip balm is only a 'Summer Essential'. I carry this lip balm EVERYWHERE. I find it super moisturising and it smells amazing. Honestly, if I could recommend at least one summer essential that is necessary to carry in your bag, then I would highly suggest Carmex. In the summer months when it gets super warm and you constantly feel dehydrated, this lip balm is a life-saver.
And finally...my bag is too small to carry a bottle of water but I always make sure I have one nearby. I leave one in the car or just carry one. It's so important to stay hydrated in this heat, so make sure that you keep your body hydrated this summer as well as your lips!
I hope this little post was helpful! I am super busy this summer and I am trying really hard to keep up with my posting schedule. I am feeling really inspired lately to actually write some positive posts about how I have been feeling lately. I might do a 'life update' post soon because a lot has changed in my world recently and I think it would be nice and almost therapeutic to write about it.
