Interview 1.5 (Jeffery Appiatu)

Good day everyone and welcome to my blog. It’s been a while since we had an episode of the “Interview”, well let me just say the wait was very worth while. Today, I’ll be introducing another wonderfully talented artists that goes by the name of Jeffery Appiatu. My previous interview with Ken Nwadiogbu was Amazing!!! this is another that I’m sure would blow you away. By the time you see his artworks, you’ll probably be wondering where I came across this stunning Artist, so let me answer that. It was during one of my many episodes of art searching. What really made him stand out was his technique and the amount of detail his artworks had. Till now I’m still fascinated about his technique, how he is able to achieve that look for his art. The answer to my question is between our talented artist and God but it’s time to get the answer to the question you’ve been asking since. “When do I get to see his artworks?” Well, right now:

Let me read your mind and say Stunning! his works are just stunning. Now you’ve seen the art, let’s get to the interview. Get to hear what Jeffery Appiatu has to say:

Q. How did it all start, What Inspired you to art?
A. It all begun in late 2010 when I saw realistic portraits made by other artists. .but before then I only drew cartoon characters. So it got me thinking I could try that and it’s been my undying love ever since I did.

Q. You made entire of being inspired by other artists, who were they?
A. To name a few Kelvin Okafor, Dirk Dzirmisky and Darrel Tank. It’s their use of pencils to create a life-like drawing that inspired me..
Kelvin inspired me the most, almost felt like you could feel the emotions of his subjects.

Q. What were the hindrances to your art  when you started
A. No hindrances at all..I also had full support from parents so was happy doing what I do.

Q. Do you have any favorite art work?
A. No I don’t…I work as hard as I can on all my pieces so don’t have favorite.

Q. Do you have a favorite artwork from another artist?
A. Oh..umm actually I don’t have a favorite. .my favorite artist is Kelvin Okafor though. But don’t have a favorite art piece.

Q. What exactly inspires you to pick up your pencil to draw?
A. What inspires me?..personally the emotional connection I get through my subjects. ..whether sad, happy….it’s what gets me going.

Q. What message do you intend to send to the world with your art?
A. I’d like people to be able to look at my work and be inspired and also to be able to feel a connection with the subject emotionally.. not just go “wow” but for someone to be in a happy mood for example just by seeing my work or feel inspired just by looking at my work.
Yeah art can inspire in so many ways and that’s one beautiful aspect about it.

Q. Okay what do you do for leisure?
A. I just hang out with friends sometimes or just stay home.

Q. Do you have a final or ultimate ambition, You wish to achieve with your art?
A. Yep..to be recognized worldwide and be able to exhibit my works in galleries all over the world.
