Good day and welcome to my blog. Today, I’ll be giving you another revised version of my previous posts and this one is titled “Fear”. I didn’t change anything about the Poem but the “Let’s Talk” version which I’ll be posting soon, I changed. But in the mean time, I hope you enjoy this oldie:

Fear

I always considered the word, Fear overrated,

That its overwhelming power on people was clearly over elaborated.

Little did I know the seemingly over stated,

Had crept within me and had become encrypted.

Little did I know that which classified the masses as, Limited

Had also kept me ,the unblemished and perfect, Restricted.

I see that which I want, clearly awaiting approach

But I take to my heels at the slightest sign of reproach.

I see the one who would be my best fit

But I’m contented with accepting defeat.

I see an opportunity to show the world who I’m supposed to be

But I’d rather stay in my spot, afraid to take a leap.

I see the perfect one awaiting her companion

But I prefer setting obstacles in a path I won’t venture.

I find solace in that famous saying we all know

But in the sequence of life,

Doesn’t claiming come before letting go.

How do you liberate,

What you never made an attempt to obtain.

I think the over stated isn’t so overrated

Because it has kept me from going after that which I’ve always wanted.
