Friends of Van Cortlandt Park Welcomes New Board Members
The Friends of Van Cortlandt Park is pleased to announce that over the last few months four new members have joined our Board of Directors: Susan Baldwin, Karel Littman, Jessica Loeser and Howie Waldman. This is especially exciting as we our celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year with a variety of special events throughout the year.
Friends of Van Cortlandt Parks Newest Board Members:
Susan Baldwin: An Associate Broker for Robert E. Hill, Inc., Susan is recognized as one of Riverdale’s most successful and respected real estate professionals. With over 25 years of real estate sales and marketing experience,
Karel Littman: Executive Director of the South Broadway Business Improvement District (BID) a 501c3 not-for-profit organization established to enhance and promote this Yonkers Main Street as a regional shopping, dining and entertainment destination.
Jessica Loeser: Special Counsel for Goldstein Hall whose practice is concentrated in Land Use Law, Zoning, Real Estate Transactions, and Landmarks Preservation.
Howie Waldman: Green Dean (since 2008) and Teacher (since 1998) 9th grade biology, science research, evolution, animal behavior, and City Semester at Ethical Fieldston Culture School.
Friends of Van Cortlandt Park Summary
Founded in 1992, the Friends of Van Cortlandt Park is an independent community based organization that actively promotes the conservation and improvement of Van Cortlandt Park, the third largest park in NYC, through environmental education and restoration and enhancement of Van Cortlandt Park, its forests and trails. FVCP provides a wide variety of educational, stewardship and community benefit programs with the focus of Bringing Youth, Community and Nature Together!.
Upcoming Event Celebrating 25th Anniversary
25th Anniversary Hike on Saturday May 13th at 10am meeting at FVCP’s Compost Site.
VIP Reception & New York Philharmonic Concert in Van Cortlandt Park on the evening of Tuesday June 13th. Tickets available soon at www.vancortlandt.org.
Hike-toberfest 2017 will tentatively be held on Saturday September 23rd. Hike, eat, drink and celebrate with friends during our fun fundraiser for the hiking trails of Van Cortlandt Park. More details will be announced soon at www.vancortlandt.org
25th Anniversary Gala will be held on the evening of Sunday October 22nd. More details will be announced soon at www.vancortlandt.org.
