How to Take Better Photos of Nature & the World Around You: A GORGEOUS Gallery of Student Work (plus an invitation for YOU!)

"Dan D. Lion" by Lisa Epstein, New Jersey

"The world is big and I want to have a good look at it before it gets dark."

                                                                                              -- John Muir

That's my favorite quote lately, and it certainly came to mind as I was putting together the latest gallery of my students' work, this one from the October 2015 session of my online course "How to Take Better Photos of Nature and the World Around You." During our weeks together, all of these students (now friends) reminded me to seek out the new, the unexplored, the everyday extraordinary. I'm so proud of these amateur photographers (yes, amateurs--can you believe it?!) who take pictures for the mere joy of taking them, celebrating daily life with their lenses. It's always hard for me to narrow down the shots that I share with you here, but I hope you'll enjoy this collection of images as much as I do.

"Ducks in the Golden Hour" by Margaret Strafaci, Connecticut

"Down the Path" by Connie Lissner, Illinois

"At the Dock" by Debbie Bagley, Pennsylvania

Weren't those wonderful? If you think you couldn't possibly take such pretty pictures, I'm happy to tell you that you're mistaken! Enrollment is now OPEN for the next session of "How to Take Better Photos of Nature and the World Around You", which will run from Monday, April 11 through Friday, April 29, 2015. Join me and let's create some beautiful nature photographs of your own. I'll teach you how to effortlessly edit your photos with free online services that will transform your view of what you can do. No fancy camera is necessary--you can even use your smart phone.  Click here to learn all about this online course and how you can register. (Spaces are limited.)

Let's ring in spring (or fall, if you're Down Under) with our cameras!

A very grateful "thank you" to all of my students who allowed me to share their lovely work in this post.
