At this year’s international Climate conference in Dubai, the federal government is aiming to agree on a global target for the expansion of renewable energies. At the start of the Petersberg climate dialogue in Berlin, Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) told delegates from around 40 countries on Tuesday that she wanted to open the debate on whether a “renewables target” could be agreed at the next world climate conference. The speakers agreed that the fight against climate change is progressing far too slowly. The world is currently heading towards global warming of almost three degrees Celsius.
