Japanese Kirie Artist Masayo Fukuda Has Handcrafted An Amazing Octopus From A Big Single Piece Of Paper

A Detailed Octopus Made From A Paper

That delicate and breathtakingly beautiful piece of art – an octopus handcrafted by Masayo Fukuda has become very popular among the netizens. Masayo Fukuda is a master of the Japanese art known as Kirie, which means “cut paper”. That art from is invented just after the invention of paper in China in 700 AD. She is doing this traditional Japanese art for 25 years.

It is amazing to see how detailed this work of art is. Though it seems that there are several layers of papers in it, the artist has used only a single sheet of white paper. There are not any pen or pencil drawings on it too. The octopus is looked really lifelike. The anatomy is perfect too. Can you identify the species?

If you want to practice Kirie like Fukuda you need to be as patient as her. It would take time to be a master of that art. The cost of low though. It would be best to use Tant paper, a paper specially made for Origamy and such paper crafts.
