An American newt goes to Germany

We have a little Newt family living under a big rock in the garden, with rough, rock-like skin and yellow bellies.
Recently they got new children, here is their smallest one (2cm in size):
The interesting thing is, I'm pretty sure they are not supposed to live here in Germany! I'm pretty sure it are Rough-skinned newts (Taricha granulosa), which are native to America. So they must have traveled somehow here, maybe as animals for one of the neighbors garden pond. However, they don't seem to impact the native wildlife negatively and just look super cute! :)
