Job Summary:
Acopia's Senior Manager of Compliance is responsible to assist
the Director of Compliance & Quality Assurance in the overall
implementation and monitoring processes to ensure adherence to all
regulatory and corporate compliance policies and procedures for the
organization.The Senior Manager of Compliance will possess a
comprehensive understanding of the mortgage loan origination
process and the retail, wholesale and correspondent production
channels.
It is critical for the Senior Manager of Compliance to possess
the knowledge and expertise described above.It's also imperative
that the person in this position applies the necessary business
maturity and judgment while communicating appropriately with Acopia
employees throughout the process to implement effective, compliant
business solutions and/or process changes, in a manner consistent
with the organization's mission and values.
Essential Job Duties:
Minimize the Organization's Risk through Effective
Management of employees responsible for Retail (AHL - Acopia Home
Loans) & Wholesale (ACG - Acopia Capital Group) Individual Loan
Disclosures, while also Maintaining Productive Relationships with
AHL & ACG Leadership and employees:
ØParticipate in cross-functional team efforts to understand
business processes, suggest enhancements through corrective action
plans and build strong relationships across the organization
ØEffectively Interact with appropriate business leaders,
management and employees to drive process improvements in Acopia's
disclosure and overall compliance processes
ØIdentify, assist with development and facilitate disclosure
team employee's training in conjunction with the Director of
Compliance & Quality Assurance and Acopia's Sr. Director of Human
Resources
Serve as Acopia's Primary Internal Compliance Contact
for the AHL & ACG teams and the Primary Compliance Contact for
External ACG Business Partners:
Provide Assistance to the Director of Compliance &
Quality Assurance as Necessary for Required Reporting as well as
Support with Regards to Regulatory Audits:
ØEnsure the annual HMDA-LAR, quarterly MCR's and state specific
reports are filed timely and accurately
Provide Assistance to the Director of Compliance &
Quality Assurance as Necessary to Support Acopia's Fair Lending
Process, Communicating with Third Party Vendor(s), Evaluating Data
and Affecting Positive Process Change as Necessary to Ensure Fair
Lending Practices:
ØEffectively interact with third party vendor(s) to provide data
for analysis
ØMonitor and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies
and procedures and company adherence, then affect positive change
through appropriate leaders inside the organization
Manage Direct Reports Consistent with the Values of the
Organization:
ØContribute to the growth and development of Direct Report(s)
through effective personal mentorship
ØEnsures direct report(s) adhere(s) to Acopia policies and
procedures
ØManage the performance of direct report(s), praising when
employee(s) perform(s) well and discussing performance deficiencies
with employee(s) as necessary

preferred)

Additional Required Skills, Knowledge,
Abilities:
ØExpert knowledge of lending laws and regulations governing
residential mortgage origination, including but not limited to Dodd
Frank Act, TILA, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA, FHA, and SAFE Act, and
state-specific lending laws
ØExcellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask
within a fast paced environment
ØStrong analytical skills
ØProficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
Required Education &
Experience:
ØBachelor's degree, or equivalent training and experience
ØMinimum 2 years of mortgage compliance experience
ØMinimum 5 years of combined mortgage, compliance, and risk
experience
