Marketing by Video – Improve Creativity

With technological advances in video production over recent years improving the quality of video, while at the same time making it much less expensive to produce, marketing by video has become affordable for virtually any business. Also, with the phenomenal growth of online video platforms such as YouTube, and with tens-of-millions of people shopping online every day, marketing by video has become a necessity for any online business venture.

Here we offer a few ideas to help you improve your video productions.

Ten Ways to Improve Your Creativity

#1: Educate your prospect

Cast yourself in the role of an expert in your field then, tell people about your products or services. Be sure to include the details on the features and benefits of your products or services, including at least two benefits for every feature. Further, explain to them all they will receive once they make their purchase from you.

#2: Answer common questions

Which questions are most common among your target market about your products or services? You can probably think of at least of at least half-a-dozen questions you hear every day. Use 10, 12, or 20 Q&A videos as your goal. I like to call these “The Top 10”, “The Top 12”, or “The Top 20” sets. See how that just rolls off the tongue? Make a series of short, to-the-point video clips where you state the question and provide the answer. These videos are very easy to make and are extremely valuable to your prospects. Tip: if you do the Top 12, you’ll have 1 video a month for a year. How’s that for meeting your commitment to yourself of providing new monthly content to your viewers!

#3: Create a product review

Find a non-competing product or service that would be of interest to your target market and create a review on its features and benefits. A product you actually use would be ideal here.

#4: Build your prospect list

If you own or run a business, you need a list of potential clients. Marketing by video is a powerful tool for this. Create a video in which you encourage your prospects to give you their name and email in exchange for something valuable to them. After all, their information has value to you, so the exchange should be equal.

You can give away an eBook, an article, a “How-to” video, a video tutorial or a free service, such as a short consultation. if you know your market, you know what your prospects consider most valuable; create a giveaway around that. And don’t be stingy; give away some good stuff.

#5: Share your good results

Create a video which highlights your successes with other customers within your target market. People like to know they are dealing with a successful business. Show what you did for a particular client and explain how this benefited them. Use testimonials from other satisfied customers to let your prospects know the benefits they received from doing business with you.

#6: Explain yourself

Tell your story; how you got where you are today, along with the life experiences which helped to shape you. Include your education and experience and let your prospects know whom they are dealing with. This personal connection is invaluable when doing business over the impersonal online world.

#7: Expose common misconceptions

Create a video which exposes about the most common misconceptions in your industry and give real-life examples which show why they are truly false.

#8: Take your viewers on a tour

Guide your viewers through your world; the world outside your office into the real world where you and they live. Show them how you do business, and explain why.

#9: Ask questions and answer them

Ask your viewers some questions which will help them understand their own needs more completely. Since you’re the expert, you may understand their needs more completely than they do themselves. Answer these questions for them, and ask them to leave their own answers in your comments section.

#10: Discover additional video opportunities

From live action, full-motion video to simple slide shows; from free online animation to full production video services, there is an amazing array of relatively inexpensive video products available today. Do not limit yourself. Jump in with both feet and give marketing by video a chance to help you grow your business.
