HUNT Real Estate announces Charles J. “Chip” Murphy as the new Regional Vice President for Rochester, New York.
With a background in real estate and an education in business and law, Murphy joined HUNT Real Estate in April 2016. At that time, he was hired to supervise branch office locations in Greece, Hornell and Alfred, NY. Murphy has since broadened his leadership role to cover 150 real estate sales professionals in five HUNT branch locations. During the almost three years of his tenure at HUNT, Murphy has built an expertise in management, coaching and creation of a motivational environment in the company’s Rochester region. In 2018, Murphy was recognized by the National Association of Realtors as one of an elite group of young professionals in the real estate industry, the national “30 Under 30.”
Murphy will work directly with Peter Hunt, Chairman and CEO of HUNT Real Estate. According to Hunt, “Chip brings a marvelous combination of education, training, demonstrated skill in the marketplace, and leadership qualities to his new position. We are particularly honored that Chip will also bring his youth and contemporary approach to our organization—now in its 108th year.”
Murphy’s expertise also extends to education and training, as he has been deeply involved in the design and implementation of HUNT’s revitalization of its career development program. In his new role, Mr. Murphy will be responsible for leading the region to “model region” status, which involves a set of metrics designed to underscore professional achievement and productivity.

Prior to joining HUNT, Murphy represented buyers and sellers in residential, vacant land and commercial transactions, achieving the #4 ranking among all 275 real estate salespersons in his primary market area.
In addition to his career in real estate, Murphy is active in the community as a member of the advisory board of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester and committee member of the Realtors Charitable Foundation.
