Lubbock, TX. (January 5, 2023)- 96-year-old Apolonia Gonzales was killed, and 64-year-old Alma Gonzales was injured in a two-vehicle crash on December 30, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas. The accident occurred around 1:00 p.m. in the 8300 block of Indiana Avenue at 83rd Street. Police reported that Alma was in the center lane preparing to make a left-hand turn when her vehicle was struck by a northbound SUV. Alma sustained moderate injuries. Her passenger, Apolonia, was transported to Covenant Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries. No further details have been provided at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
