World Day for Safety and Health

Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work, but safety is important to us at CyrusOne every day. The health and safety of our teammates and contractors are always of high priority, especially with the risks inherent in the construction aspect of our business. We are proud to report that CyrusOne’s incident rates are only a fraction of the average rates within the data center industry.

Eliminating injuries requires teamwork, focus and a continuous improvement mindset. We have aligned our practices with ISO 45001 international safety standards with six areas of focus: leadership and worker participation, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation, and improvement.

Safety training and vigilance never ends. At our data center locations, the security teams have been fully trained in basic first aid and CPR, including use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Our facilities teams conduct standard rounds twice a day of all critical equipment and data halls, looking to ensure compliance with safety best practices by employees, vendors and guests.

As a reminder to all our employees, vendors and visitors, we require or encourage viewing of our recently produced safety video.  We also provide the following important resources: Customer Safety Handbook, available in hard copy or downloadable via QR Code at our data center locations, and CyrusOne’s Health and Safety Policy.
