Through our Teacher Appreciation nominations, we were able to see exactly how our teachers are impacting our kids and community. We want to recognize each nomination that has come in. 1495 unique nominations and 525 teachers nominated, we are sharing the answers to our question posed: “Why does this teacher make you smile?”. The blogs are organized by last name of the teacher.

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile? This teacher makes me smile by helping my daughter learn so much. She struggles very much in math, and Mr. D,Agostino helped her become better. She has been in his class for 2 years.

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile?  This teacher makes me smile because she is so supportive of my son with his senior capstone project. She is a great teacher for him and even came to a Vegas Golden Knights game to support him being named as the recipient of a scholarship through the VGK organization. She makes him smile so that makes me smile.

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile? Ms. D never failed to put a smile on my face. whether it be just listening to me rant or her letting me come in and us having a conversation and ranting about stuff together. She’s a very loving and caring teacher and I wish i had her all 4 years.

She genuinely cares about each student. She has initiated a program at the school where students can get hygiene products anonymously if they need them. She goes above and beyond to teach, support and inspire her students.

She has worked hard the last 6 years to provide a welcoming space to all her students. She is easy to talk to and is always challenging herself to be more and teach more engaging lessons.

Tiffany is a fierce advocate for inclusion in our school. She has an amazing ability of getting even the most reluctant students involved and passionate about learning. Every student has a place in her clubs, organizations and classroom!

She always made me smile and gave me the comfort I needed on a bad day.

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile?  Mrs. Davidson goes over and beyond for her students. I had never seen students go on so many field trips. My son is in her band and jazz band. She has them performing in so many different venues. Ms. Davidson offers encouragement and support to all of her students but especially to my son. I appreciate her dedication and her love for her students always brings a smile to my face!

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile? Mrs. Davidson makes me smile because she noticed when i was sad, talked tome when i felt bad, and she warms my heart. I appreciate Mrs. Davidson very much for understanding when most people wouldn’t, and for adding me to her group until the end of the year.

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile? Jen Davis always has a positive attitude. She is kind and brings a special sparkle to the day. She loves unicorns and you can spot a unicorn somewhere on her clothes, socks, earrings, or headband almost every day. She has a unique and gentle connection with young learners.

Mrs.Davis is kind and loving to all her students. When a student needs someone to talk to she is someone that student can go to without feeling judged or feeling ashamed. She is great at helping students understand and makes learning fun. I always looked forward to going to her class and I’m sure others are too. Every time I pass her, she says hello to me, she makes students feel recognized and I appreciate that. That’s why I think she should be recognized for the great teacher she is.

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile? My science teacher makes me smile because she always understands whenever there is a problem or a crisis a student is going through and she helps. Ms. Davis is always helping us understand every assignment. Our class even has a Jolly rancher war between our period and all of her other periods, once in a while she hands out mints or jolly ranchers if we participate in class.

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile?  She is so amazing and beautiful she’s so nice, she’s helpful, i absolutely love her.

This teacher makes me smile because I personally think they’re really funny andc ool. She’s my science teacher and student council teacher, she does a lot for us and is really cool! We went on a Disneyland trip and it was really fun, plus she said for her student council kids she’s gonna surprise us with something in a couple of weeks for Student Council appreciation week. She also spends a lot of money on us which is another reason why I think she is a really cool and funny teacher!

This teacher makes me smile every day and when we are in student council it is fun because we get to make things and have fun in that class. Student council and teachers at the school do so much for the school. I really appreciate Ms. Dayton because she is someone you can talk to and she puts a smile on my face every day.

In her classroom, she has made it very apparent that there’s nothing wrong with being happy on Monday and upset on Friday. Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile? Not only has this teacher taught me so much about my instrument, but she has also been there for all her students when they weren’t ok. She always lets you know that it is ok to not be ok. She is always there for her students.

Beforehand, she would find any excuse to miss school and now she gets so disappointed if she has to miss school or even leave school early! Every day she is excited to see what Mr. D has to teach the class.

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile? She is always so bubbly and fun to come to class too! she is an amazing teacher and so contagious with her laugh and her little jokes she makes.

Although this is past the deadline, I hope you do consider this submission. I have been sick and out on a leave from school. My teacher is the best teacher I have ever had. She has been the only one to actually care about any of her students. She emails you if you are gone sick for a couple days and even asks you how you are when you get back. She would help you even if it meant staying afterschool or coming in before. She works off school hours as well, helping her students when they truly need it. I have confided in her about issues in my personal life as well. She is a character. Mrs. Dominguez is not only a teacher but is a role model. She looks out for everyone she can and makes the best effort in class to keep us engaged. I could not ask for a better person in my life. She truly inspires everyone she knows.

Always greets me in the mornings, she also has a positive attitude with us students and she can make me go from sad to happy.

Best teacher in the school always comes up with fun activities.

Coming into class is just the best feeling. I love her energy and her teaching ethic. It’s just fun to come into class and see what we might do next like a word search and even Kahoots.

Everyday even when she starts losing her voice, she makes sure to make everys tudent in the class feel seen. She helped me get through a really dark place right before winter break and overall, she’s amazing at her job and me and other classmates would love to see how much we appreciate her.

I love the way that she teaches class, always with a smile on her face and she makes class fun with her stories and jokes. She’s a very lovely teacher and very reliable and comfortable to be around. I’d like to add that I love how she incorporates games and certain activities making learning even better.

Mrs. Dominguez is always in a cheerful mood when I walk into her classroom, and genuinely cares about her students and their interests. I love whenever I have an art project with me and she asks me about it, I just feel like she really cares about her students and loves what she does.

Mrs. Dominguez is a teacher that is actually genuine with her students. She tries to involve all of them and is an understanding teacher and kind with us, (her students). Her classes are a fun and chill environment to be in. She is my favorite teacher this year!

Mrs. Dominguez makes me smile because she shows passion for her work and motivates students to succeed.

Mrs. Dominguez more than any other teacher makes me feel like she’s interested in my life and what I have to say.

Mrs. Dominguez provided me with a new backpack, new clothes, new hygiene supplies, and emotional support when I was homeless. She is truly the most beautiful soul and kindhearted teacher and really deserves this award.

My teacher, Ms. Dominguez lets me, and other students play Kahoot! and do crossword puzzles every Friday.

She always makes learning super fun and gives back to the class for reaching goals.

She always has a ton of energy and makes class fun. She plans lots of fun activities and talks to all of her students and makes class a really enjoyable and comfortable place to be. She always notices when people are down and makes sure they’re okay.

She always prepares us for quizzes by making do Kahoot! she gives us fun games to play when we have the time, and a fun and chill teacher overall.

She brings so much positive energy to the classroom and makes gov/econ topics fun to learn in her own ways.

She cares about us a lot and makes sure that we know she is there for us.

She does games to help us study for tests and hosts a fun gaming club after school.

She does her best to explain and go over everything. She’s not liked the others; she is always upbeat and smiling to herself. She’s the best history teacher I’ve ever had.

She has cool ways of making us laugh. She does Kahoot reviews and gives us candy if three of us wins.

She is a really sweet teacher. She listened to me all the time. I am an exchange student from Japan, so sometimes I couldn’t do the same as American students, but she helped me a lot.

She is able to make one of my most hated subjects, history, and make it fun. She has us do really fun group activities that allow me to learn so much more than normal. Also, she is a very personable teacher that I feel like I could have a genuine conversation with. Every day is just a blast in class.

She is always in a cheerful mood, and always keeps the class fun!

She is so amazing and sweet, i have never learned so much before in history. She creates a safe space and is so amazing to all of her students she even takes her time out of her day to make sure i am okay and that everyone is okay. She is so patient with our class and you can tell she is a really good person. I haven’t heard her say one mean thing all year long and she has really high morals.

She is super nice she gives us candy and helps us in the future about taxes and putting up savings.

She has a well-planned schedule for assignments that she discusses with her students, so they know what is expected of them. She also makes sure to listen to all of her students’ feedback and learning preferences and is always open to new ideas. There is plenty of class interaction and she cares about the mental health of her students by asking how people’s weeks have been. She also volunteers to help with things like gaming club and allows students to use her classroom to do work or participate in club activities. She is always supportive of upcoming events and has posters for things like theater shows at the front of the class. If asked, she will make announcements for upcoming games and shows that students are participating in so people know when they are happening and can come and support them.

This teacher gives lots of school projects which allows students to work together making great memories.

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile? Ms. Donolli has been my daughter’s Student Council Leader for the last four years. She has taught my daughter not only how to be a leader, but also how to have character and be a good person. Ms. Donolli has been a consistent, reliable adult in my daughter’s life, and I know that she cares about my daughter personally. Ms. Donolli goes above and beyond, and I appreciate her dedication to her job.

This teacher makes me smile because she is always dedicating her time to making our school a better place. Ms. Donolli has been my teacher for three different classes and in each one she has always focused on working with the students to ensure they are in the best learning environment. As the head of Student Council, Ms. Donolli is constantly busy yet still finds the time to brighten everyone’s day with her comical energy!

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile? Ms. Dorrell is constantly working to make our children and our community better. From working 2 jobs while finishing her teaching degree to making Christmas presents for every 4th grade student in our school to serving in the national guard, she is the kind of teacher who will volunteer to get slimed if the students hit their growth targets and show up at a kid’s dance recital or karate match because they invited her. She puts in so much effort on the job, but she also spends so much of her personal time, money, and energy working with her kids, tutoring before and after school, and making her classroom, grade level, and school a community. She is the kind of teacher that every student needs atleast once to push them hard but with the support they need to make their goals.

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile? It’s definitely his energy, his smile, his laugh, his corny little jokes, the way he says “two”, I could honestly go on, but I will give it a rest. His teaching methods are something my daughter talks about regularly, as she enjoys his class. We need more teachers like Mr. Doubet, we’re going to miss him!

Why Does This Teacher Make You Smile? Kasey makes me smile EVERY day! She walks around with a perpetual smile on her face. Her Kindergarten class has been a tough one this year, but she NEVER complains, nope, just smiles!!Not to mention the random flowers, treats, and funny stories from her class that she shares with me and others on a daily basis. She makes my life brighter each and every day! I smile because she smiles! How could you not?

This teacher literally makes me smile so much like she gets my humor. she’s going to retire next year but i really hope she gets this because every time i see her smile it makes me smile. she’s really the sweetest and would be willing to sacrifice anything for her students. one time i didn’t bring my id so she gave me money to buy a new one. I LOVE HER!!!!

Teachers play a significant role in our lives, and we are thankful for them and all they do for our community every single day. We understand how important their job is in student development and learning and know they work tirelessly to educate children and add value to their lives! Thank you, you are our heroes!
