Gratitude Spotlight: Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada

Over the past 15 years, we have enjoyed building with our community and moving in the direction of supporting nonprofits and charity organizations. One of those that we partner with is the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada.

This foundation was put together to create a network of support for families affected with Childhood Cancer. Through financial, quality of life and emotional support, families can find what they need through this organization that sees up to 125 families per month.

“In the United States, cancer remains one of the leading causes of death by disease for children. 1 in 285 children living in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer this year, and it’s estimated that 50,000 children are fighting cancer in hospitals today. 

Our mission at Candlelighters is to provide emotional support, quality of life programs, and financial assistance for children and their families affected by childhood cancer living or being treated in Southern Nevada. Our primary goal is to allow them to focus on the journey, and most importantly, loving their child.

Together we can be family, extended.”

This year, one of the Candlelighters’ favorite events is back in the outdoors!! Be sure to save the date from September 18th, 2021, and learn more about the Superhero 5K! Last year due to Covid it was virtual, but this year it will be held at Exploration Park. There is also a virtual option. 

There are many ways to participate with the Candlelighters’ from joining their events like the Superhero 5K to volunteering to donate. Every little bit helps the community and families in the surrounding areas. You can find out more ways to help here.
