At the age when high school students normally struggle with their studies, xkcdHatGuy stunned not only his viewers, but also science geeks and people who knew nothing about the subject.

The American high school student literally lectured the complexities of the 4th dimension, by progressively explaining the 1st dimension and then gradually moves into the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th dimensions, demonstrating it using household items such as books, rubber, coin, and more, found in his room.

The video became an overnight sensation as viewers were left stunned and amazed by the young man, who seamlessly explained one of the most-complex topics in science, in just 9 minutes.

To many people who commented on his video, and on social media, xkcdHatGuy is often referred to as the "the genius kid."

Over the years, the video continues gaining viewers, making it one of the most popular videos of its kind.

After the video went viral, he uploaded a series of intellectual videos on his channel from 2011 until December 2013.

Then suddenly, he disappeared.

Without any warning, the genius kid vanished from YouTube.

What's more, xkcdHatGuy also has no other social media accounts.

This left his fans who wished more of his wisdom, confused and wonder.

During the absence of xkcdhatGuy, several fake channels under the same name appeared, seemingly profiting from the young man's disappearance.

Then suddenly, on September 4, 2019, xkcdHatGuy uploaded a video titled, My Return to YouTube and Why I Left.

xkcdHatGuy returned, as an obese adult.

In the roughly eight-minute video, xkcdHatGuy shared more facts about his life, such as the reason behind his disappearance, his love life, and his views on society.

In the video, his explanation answered pretty much everything people wondered, and that the real reason behind his disappearance is not quite what the majority of people thought.

The YouTuber also explained that he was long gone because he lost access to his account due to forgetting his password.

The genius apparently couldn't recover his account.

Because of that, he created a new account.

xkcdHatGuy who has become an adult, also said autism as his other reason for his disappearance.

He said that he was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome when he was 5 years old, this can be described as a condition on the autism spectrum, where the person has a generally higher functioning, and has an all-absorbing interest in specific topics.

But after the 4th dimension video went viral, he realized that the realm of mathematics and theoretical physics isn't just for him.

This is why after graduating high school, xkcdHatGuy began studying alternative medicine and even worked at a store specializing in it.
