J. K. Rowling Would 'Happily' Go To Prison Rather Than Referring Transgender Women As Women

Followers are those who follow others. Influencers are the total opposite.

They can lead and guide. Thanks to their ability to influence others, they can become role models. They can also become mentors, thanks to their expertise and experiences.

These unique individuals possess the unique ability to inspire and catalyze change. And when they take a stand for what they believe in, their steadfastness can be both reassuring and motivating.

On social media, these people can create an army of followers.

And sometimes, they can also create a battalion of haters.

J. K. Rowling is the author best known for creating Harry Potter and the Cormoran Strike series, and she firmly believes that a woman is a woman, and a man is a man.

Rowling has long been a transphobic, and that her belief is something she holds dear.

She publicly claims that there are only two genders, and that they are only those assigned from birth.

People are either male or female. Nobody should consider themselves both, or neither, or in between.

The first time she publicly expressed her hatred towards transgender people, was back in 2018, when she liked a tweet that incorrectly referred to trans women as "guys in dresses." Things were more apparent in 2020, she she posted a series of tweets criticizing an article that used the term "people who menstruate" instead of "women."

Rowling has been making tweets about her transphobic thoughts that sparked a lot of backlash from fans, celebrities, and the LGBTQ+ community, who found her comments to be harmful and ignorant.

But she doesn't care.

In fact, she continues to make those remarks, no matter how many times she is criticized.

And this time, she doesn't even care if expressing her thoughts would land her in prison.

In a post on X, Rowling uploaded a photo that featured the text: "Repeat after us: Trans women are women."

In response, she wrote, "No."

When a commenter made a reference to a report on the U.K.'s Labour Party working to incorporate transphobic abuse - including referring to someone with a pronoun they do not use - under hate crime legislation that would make offenses punishable by up to two years of imprisonment, Rowling essentially said she would certainly serve her time.

"I'll happily do two years if the alternative is compelled speech and forced denial of the reality and importance of sex," she said.

"Bring on the court case, I say. It'll be more fun than I've ever had on a red carpet," she continued.

"Hoping for the library, obviously, but I think I could do okay in the kitchen. Laundry might be a problem. I have a tendency to shrink stuff/turn it pink accidentally. Guessing that won't be an issue if it's mostly scrubs and sheets, though."

Rowling has been using her social media account to criticized transgenders, not because who they are. She only hates the fact that transgenders erases the concept of sex.

"If sex isn't real, there's no same-sex attraction," she once said.

"If sex isn't real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn't hate to speak the truth."

Rowling has continued to double down on her stance on gender despite pushback, including from Harry Potter film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.
