'Diablo 4' Asks Blood Donation In Exchange For In-Game Rewards And A Human Blood-Infused PC

The immensely popular game Diablo IV sees the release of its second season, named the "Season of Blood."

In the Blizzard's game season adds a bunch of vampire-related content, ranging from special abilities to challenging enemies, and many improvements to the existing features.

But to welcome the season, which carries the word "blood" in it, the developer honors it by asking players of Diablo IV to donate their blood for special in-game rewards.

And ultimately, the can earn the chance to own a bespoke PC made by infusing the blood players donated.

Blizzard calls the campaign "Blood Harvest," and that eligible participants are only legal residents of the U.S., and 18 years of age or older.

Crimson-coated prizes are offer in three different tiers.

At tier 1 at 33%, the campaign shall unlock the weapon cosmetics that include:

  1. Dagger: Bloodpetal Anlace.
  2. Axe: Bloodpetal Sever.
  3. Necromancer Focus: Bloodpetal Heart.
  4. Sword: Bloodpetal Blade.
  5. Druid Staff: Bloodpetal Bludgeon.

At tier 2 at 66%, players can receive all tier 1 rewards plus:

  1. The Loch Raeth Maor Barbarian Armor Cosmetic.

And at tier 3 at 100%, players can get all tier 1 and tier 2 rewards, with the addition of:

  1. The Vermilion Eye Piebald Mount.
  2. The sweepstakes to win the custom real human blood-infused PC.

According to Blizzard, the PC in question is powered by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090, Intel Core i9 CPU, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, 3 TB SSD Storage, and Quantum Vector GPU Waterblock.

It's worth noting that every Diablo IV player gets the rewards. While you may want, or not be able to donate blood due to your location or otherwise, they can still get the same reward drops.

Blizzard says it is awarding the cosmetic rewards to all players with active Diablo IV accounts globally on Wednesday, November 22.

The developer specifies that is only rewarding cosmetics that are "related to the final percentages indicated on the site."

What this means, the rewards player can get depend on how much blood everyone collectively donates.

The target of this campaign, is 666 quarts (about 630 liters).

In the event that players donate 100% or all 666 quarts of blood prior to Blizzard’s aforementioned end date, the Blood Harvest will end early and players will receive each of the tier’s prizes.

It's worth noting that the event, which starts on October 20 and ends on November 20, is meant to "help save lives." By visiting any blood donation centers, players can donate their blood for a good cause.

"Not only will you be helping someone in need, but you’ll also help earn coveted in-game rewards based upon the total amount of blood donated by all eligible players," said Blizzard.
