Bentley is the famous British Car manufacturer.
It gained its initial fame when winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the early 20th century, before pivoting its focus to become a premium brand when consolidated under VW.
Now, known for designing and marketing luxury cars, the company that is headquartered in Crewe, creates some of the most expensive production cars in the market. Besides of having a world-class brand that certainly bumped up its price tag, Bentley is also known for using high-quality materials all over its exterior and interior.
And on the internet, the 'Bentley Car Review' in an ASMR-style approach, storms the internet because of parodies that came after it
Because not everyone can afford buying a Bentley, people love making a comparison instead.
The parody began when a video of a woman reviewing a Bentley in an ASMR-style video was uploaded.
The blonde woman went over the car's features, by emphasizing how they sound like.
From flicking the 'Flying B' hood ornament, to playing with the car's exposed metallic grill and its alloy rim. The woman in black dress is then seen entering the car by pulling the handle, start the car by pushing the start button on the center console.
The woman then uses the turn signal, plays with the leather steering wheel, opens and closes the rear table tray, and flicking the a half-filled crystal glass.
The woman would say "Bentley," to literally remind viewers that she's indeed inside a very expensive vehicle.
The video was originally uploaded on July 6th, 2023, before in August, a number of videos inspired by it were uploaded to YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
Examples include comparing the Bentley with a Tata car, a military vehicle, a Steyr, Jeep, freightliner, a Leichter Panzerspähwagen armored car, Citroën, Tesla, tuned and modified cars, a train, a bicycle, and many more.
ASMR-style videos are generally intended to give viewers auditory relaxation by having a person whispering with comforting words and making soothing sounds, like crinkling paper or chewing gum, or whatever sound that may appeal to the listener.
In this case, the Bentley ASMR video tries to showcase the quality of the luxurious car, and by quietly shouting the life of "being super wealthy and affording the luxury car."
Because the concept of "whispering a vehicle's name and making noises with it" is extremely simple to imitate, people with far less lavish and cheaper cars started making their own versions of ASMR videos.
But instead of trying to replicate, the videos are trying to ridicule the original.
Many of the parodies have gained millions of videos on YouTube.
Whether they're Bentleys, Tatas, tractors, trains, or anything else for that matter, all vehicles can create a similar sound, if not cracked up by a whispering young, beautiful blonde woman.
