Cheating means being unfaithful.

Most people in this world would agree that infidelity is a violation of a couple's emotional and/or sexual exclusivity. So obviously, a person who is cheating will make his/her partner/spouse angry and jealous. And this time, a woman took her rage to the internet, by leaking the sex tape her partner alleged had with his mistress.

But what makes this case intriguing is that, the man who cheated is not some ordinary person.

This is because the man in question is South Korea's national footballer, Hwang Ui-jo.

At this time, Hwang plays as forward or a winger for Nottingham Forest, as well as at the Seoul Football Club and also the South Korean National team.

His alleged ex-girlfriend was apparently furious when she realized that Hwang had an affair behind her back when he was still with her.

Because of this, the woman leaked the South Korean national team striker private life to the internet, so everyone will see.

It all began on June 25, when the alleged ex-girlfriend of Hwang reportedly uploaded an explosive post, in which she claimed to have dated the footballer. In the post, the woman also alleged that the footballer gaslighted (emotionally abusing) her and further claimed that he had done this to several women, including celebrities.

"I am a woman who dated Hwang Ui Jo," she said.

"He has gaslighted several women by acting as if they were dating to sleep with them before ending the relationship saying he had to go overseas. There are so many victims like me, including celebrities. Turns out he had been dating someone during this time. He is currently dating celebrities, influencers, and non-celebrities, all at the same time."

"I am not sure how many more victims there are."

To prove what she meant, the annoyed, alleged ex-girlfriend also posted a video of a man resembling the soccer star, in the middle of a sex act.

According to reports, the woman got her hands on the video after stealing it from Hwang's phone.

The woman also claimed that Hwang stores a number of other sex tapes on his phone, accusing Hwang of possessing hidden camera recordings of his sexual encounters with various women.

The player’s agency has since responded.

Hwang's management, UJ Sports, made a statement to deny the alleged ex-girlfriend’s claims.

"First, we would like to apologize to the fans for causing concern. We have become aware of unfounded rumors and sexual harassment targeting Hwang Ui Jo. Henceforth, we are investigating who started these rumors and leaks," UJ Sports said.

The management agency also said that the man in the video is not Hwang Ui-jo.

"We strongly condemn the fake rumors that have negatively impacted the player, and we will take strict legal action against those spreading unfounded rumors."

As for Hwang, a well-known personality in the entertainment sector, he took the step of making a handwritten statement available to the public to face the accusations and reclaim control of the narrative.

In his statement, which was posted on his official social media accounts, denied, Hwang denied being involved in the supposed video. He argued that the video was an intentional attempt to damage his reputation and career and insisted that he was innocent.

Hwang thanked his supporters for their continuous support throughout this trying moment.

He also committed to fully assisting law enforcement in their investigation into the origins of the video to learn the truth and prosecute those accountable.

Hwang’s statement is his attempt to address the problem directly.

It's worth noting that he made this statement after setting his Instagram on private mode.

Due to Hwang's celebrity status, videos of the soccer player engaging in sexual intercourse are being sold for 2,000 to 3,000 KRW.

This raised concerns among netizens, who fear both the potential harm inflicted on the women appearing in these videos and the defamation of Hwang himself.

In South Korea, under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes, individuals who distribute, sell, rent, provide, or openly display or screen filmed material against the will of the subjects may face imprisonment for up to seven years or fines of up to 50 million KRW (around $40,000).

In other words, Hwang claims to be the victim of revenge porn of the internet. a malicious act where intimate content is circulated as a form of retaliation following the termination of a relationship.

This divides Hwang's fanbase and the football world. And the media have also been shocked by the controversy.

While many people think that the video is real, his devoted responded favorably to Hwang’s comments by surrounding him and sending him words of support.

Regardless, the story quickly gained notoriety, sparking extensive rumors and public interest.

While some praised him for having the bravery to address the charges by himself, others expressed doubt.
